Andes Pre-mission Checklist for Scientific Leads
- Go through the Andes mission settings and ensure mission information is up to date
- Starting/ending date, times and location
- Make sure your user account, and that of any other scientific lead, has full administrative access.
- On the Andes home page, make sure that the navigational input icon is green (i.e., you are receiving nav input)
- Make sure all printers are working as needed. Ensure the correct users are linked to the correct printers.
- Try making a backup and downloading it. Make sure the timestamp in the filename is correct.
- Make sure all the maps you need are loading correctly.
- Make sure you are able to access the NAS from a personal computer
- Make sure backups and images are saving to the NAS
- Ensure stations are “loaded up” in CCG system (e.g., Alderbarren, OpenCPN, Synapsis)
- If using webcams, test to see that they are working
- If applicable, start a fishing set and test out the fishing console.
- Confirm the Scanmar starts and ends recording when it is supposed to
- Ensure you have internet access through the Andes network (will have to coordinate with Andes Admin Team / Cradlepoint admin)
